Liyang Museum, located near Yanhu Park in Liyang City, Jiangsu Province, has won the Honorable Mention in Architectural Design / Cultural Architecture in the Architecture MasterPrize.
As the first comprehensive, modern museum in Liyang, it takes the shape of Jiao Wei (Scorched Tail) Qin, the musical instrument made by versatile scholar Cai Yong (132-192) of Eastern Han Dynasty.
The complex has a total floor space of 18,319 square meters, including exhibition area of 11,000 square meters. In May 2018, the museum was displayed at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale and won a grand prize. Today, the museum has become a major cultural attraction in the city, drawing a large number of visitors every day.
