The 4-day inaugural Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo came to a close Monday in Yangzhou. Various activities such as light show, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, and caravanning tours were organized to showcase the unique charm of the Grand Canal and the characteristics of the era of cultural integration.
The inaugural Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo is themed on "integration, innovation and sharing" with a view to building three platforms for the integration of cultural tourism between cities and towns along the Grand Canal, the promotion of cultural tourism and the sharing of good life so as to further build an important integrated cultural tourism platform with growing influence at home and abroad.
Light shows, festooned ship cruise and opera performances were staged during the expo to showcase the cultural and historical charm of the Grand Canal.
Nearly 140,000 visitors watched the performances and road shows. Over 200, 0000 were present at the festooned ship cruise.
238 cooperation intentions were reached between canal cities around the world.
