
Thanks to the pleasant and comfortable weather during the 4-day holiday for the May 1st Labor Day this year, the city received a total of 4.53 million tourists, increasing by 11% year-on-year (similarly hereinafter). Total tourism revenue reached 6.54 billion yuan, an increase of 13.5%.
During the holiday, the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Lion Grove Garden and the Suzhou Museum, which no longer accept same day appointments or walk-ins from April 27, received 95,000 (up 6.98%), 58,900 (up 34.23%), and 15,300 (down 45%) visitors respectively.
The Tiger Hill scenic spot was visited by 116,000 tourists, increasing by 100%; the Lingering Garden 78,900, soaring by 218.15%. Among the open scenic spots, the Jinji Lake drew 590,000 visitors, an increase of 20%. And Pingjiang Road and Shantang Street also attracted a large number of tourists.
