East China’s Jiangsu province has released the implementation opinions on further making up for the weaknesses in the infrastructure sector, according to a press release held Monday morning in Nanjing.
Jiangsu will give full play to the development of the Yangtze River economic belt, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region as well as the Belt and Road Initiative to highlight the promotion of poverty alleviation, railway, airport, highway and water transport, energy, water conservancy, agriculture and rural areas, urban construction, ecological protection, and people's livelihood by launching major investment projects and making coordinated plans.
Jiangsu will make greater efforts to accelerate the constructions of high-speed railways, build key aviation hubs, implement airport upgrades, and improve the wide-coverage road network to build a green channel for water transport. In the first quarter of this year, the province's railway construction completed an investment of 7.87 billion yuan, an increase of 54.4% over the same period of last year. The airport construction completed an investment of 700 million yuan, an increase of 20.7%. At the same time, the construction of the Yangtze River bridges and tunnels is also being accelerated.
In the meantime, the provincial finance has set up a provincial-level guidance fund to upgrade rural road, promote the further improvement of the rural road network, and the full coverage of the administrative village's two-lane highway.
199 million yuan was arranged for subsidies from 2016 to 2018. By the end of 2018, 907 townships in the province have launched bus services, standing for 83.7% of all the townships.
