The opening ceremony of the 2019 Flowery March International Economy, Trade and Tourism Festival of Yangzhou was held on April 18 attracting guests from all over the world.
Xia Xinmin, the Deputy Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Committee and the Mayor of Yangzhou Municipal People's Government, delivered a welcome speech at the ceremony while mapping out a blueprint for Yangzhou. Xu Lirong, chairman of CHINA COSCO SHIPPING GROUP, and Miyabayashi Yoshihiro, chairman of Unicharm (China) Investment co., LTD. also addressed the audience.
During the signing ceremony, a total of 55 major projects worth 65.8 billion yuan were agreed. Six of these projects are set to receive investment of 5 billion yuan each, and 38 of them are related to manufacturing.

An industrial development promotion fair in Hanjiang district was also held on the previous day, attracting over 200 guests home and abroad. During the fair, a total of 30 projects worth 19.18 billion yuan were agreed covering industries such as tourism, high-end automobile manufacturing and advanced technology.

18 years since the first“Flowery March” Festival was held, the Festival has grown into an important platform for Yangzhou to promote its economic and trade cooperation, and a grand festival for it to receive and entertain guests from around the world.
