The SEU-UOB Joint Research Center was launched in Medpark, a leading professional medical device industrial park located in Suzhou Science and Technology Town (SSTT), on April 14.
The center will be jointly developed by the Southeast University (SEU), the University of Birmingham (UOB) and SSTT. The three sides have pledged to increase strategic cooperation to make innovative breakthroughs and product research and development in four fields - bone enhancement, anti-scarring eye drops, smart surface and AI in medical imaging. Efforts will also be made to promote the transfer of technologies and introduction of talents.
The center had five laboratories and public office area ready for service in January. Relying on SSTT’s high-quality resources in economy, industry and policy, the center will give full play to the advantages of the two universities in technological innovation, talent and international cooperation, promote the joint training of international research and innovation talents, and also facilitate the transfer of technology from the UOB to the Chinese market.
