Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce, Jiangsu University, Jiangsu Normal University, Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College and Jiangxi Vocational College of Industrial Trade and Technology signed an agreement in Wuxi City on April 2 to help develop the Sihanoukville Institute of Business and Technology.
The Sihanoukville Institute of Business and Technology was jointly established by Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce, HOdo Group, a textile and garment company, and the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in Cambodia. It’s Jiangsu’s first overseas school-enterprise cooperative school, providing application-orientated undergraduate programs.
The institute won approval from authorities in Cambodia on October 31, 2018 and offers academic education, skills training, technical services, culture and people-to-people exchanges. Recognized by Cambodia’s education authorities, the institute can issue undergraduate or associate degree certificates to students after completing their studies.
According to the agreement, the five colleges will cooperate in many fields, such as curriculum development, talent training, teaching and management, to better cultivate high-quality professionals and technical talents for Cambodia and Southeast Asian countries. Efforts will also be made to set up academic programs and formulate standards with international influence.
