The General Office of the Provincial Government recently issued the "Three-Year Plan for Environmental Infrastructure Construction in Jiangsu Province" in a bid to win the battle against pollution, solve the outstanding problems of the construction of environmental infrastructure, enhance its waste collection and disposal capacity and boost its operational supervision.
The "Plan" clearly clarifies that by 2020, the province will basically build an environmental infrastructure system with complete layout, high efficiency and strong support, which will provide strong support for the fight against pollution and comprehensive promotion of Jiangsu's high-quality development.
The "Plan" sets specific targets from seven aspects: urban and rural domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, domestic garbage collection and transportation, hazardous waste utilization and disposal, sludge utilization and disposal, clean energy supply capacity, and monitoring and monitoring capacity building.
By 2020, the sewage treatment facilities at the township level will be fully covered in the chemical parks, and the harmless treatment capacity of domestic garbage will reach 20,000 tons/day. 98% or more of the urban and rural domestic garbage in the province will be subjected to harmless treatment. The natural gas installed capacity will have reached 20 million kilowatts, and the total coal consumption will have decreased by 32 million tons compared with the level in 2016. The province will basically establish a relatively complete hazardous waste disposal system.
Jiangsu will start 1195 projects with an estimated total investment of 175.423 billion yuan. While increasing investment in various types of funds, the province will make full use of market-based means and innovate operational management methods to ensure that the above objectives are completed on schedule.
