East China’s Jiangsu province will spare no efforts to ensure food safety, according to a teleconference held Wednesday afternoon in Nanjing. Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive deputy governor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Fan Jinlong stressed that it is necessary to fully understand the extreme importance of doing a good job in food safety, enhance the ideological awareness of the importance of food safety, and make strong actions so as to focus on the central task of "letting people eat at ease", treat both the symptoms and the root causes, and effectively scrutinize every step from farm to the table.
More efforts should be made to carry out special rectification and comprehensive management, prevent and control food safety risks, and improve long-term mechanisms so as to speed up the construction of a social co-governance pattern, strengthen the construction of a food safety credit system, strengthen social supervision, and ensure the safety at the tip of the tongue.
Vice Governor Ma Qiulin and Fei Gaoyun attended the meeting.
Ma Qiulin made deployment on the current food safety key points, pointing out that it is necessary to conscientiously implement the food safety responsibility system, focus on preventing food safety risks, highlight food safety on campus, accelerate the improvement of food safety management capabilities, and enhance the people’s sense of gain and satisfaction.
