Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, stressed at the meeting that we must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and conscientiously study and understand the spirit of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping when attending the panel discussions with lawmakers from six provincial level regions and the gist of the two sessions so as to uphold the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee and unite around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, seize the opportunities, and implement the decisions of the central government and strive for a new era in the province’s high-quality development.
Lou pointed out that studying and implementing the spirit of the two sessions is a major political task for the current and future period. We must conscientiously study and implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping when attending the panel discussions with lawmakers from six provincial level regions, enhance political stance, understand the essence of the spirit, grasp the key points, and ensure that the gist of the two sessions are implemented in a comprehensive way.
He stressed that we must adhere to the general tone of making steady progress while maintaining stability, uphold the new development concept, implement the various decisions of the central government, promote the comprehensive and strict governance of the party, and promote high-quality development.
The CPC Provincial chief called on the province to maintain strategic resolve, coordinate the promotion of eco-environmental protection and industrial transformation, deepen reform and opening up, energize the market-oriented reforms, expand high-level openness, proactively prevent and resolve major risks, and create a favorable development environment that is conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that the government work report has proposed many new major initiatives. Each of the initiatives has policy support behind them, and each policy has hidden opportunities. Lou stressed that this year is a crucial year for building a well-off society in an all-round way and achieving the first centenary goal, making it all the more important to strengthen the party's leadership, coordinate the work of the people's congress, the government, and the CPPCC, enhance the sense of urgency, strengthen the bottom line thinking, maintain a pragmatic style, and make new progress in the construction of a new Jiangsu.
