Cai Dafeng, vice chairman of the standing committee of the 13th National People’s Congress, joined Wednesday afternoon a panel discussion with deputies from Jiangsu province to review the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening ceremony of at the second session of the 13th National People's Congress, China's national legislature.
Cai Dafeng said that in the past year, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the State Council comprehensively implemented Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the spirit of the 19th Party Congress, and actively responded to the pressure from the complex and severe domestic and international situations and economic downturn, coordinate and promote the five-pronged overall layout and the "four comprehensives" strategic layout, persist in making steady progress while maintaining stability, adhere to high-quality development, optimize economic structure, stimulate new kinetic energy, deepen reform and opening up, and make continuous progress in the three tough battles of preventing and defusing financial risks, targeted poverty alleviation and pollution prevention.
The task of economic and social construction in 2019 is very arduous and difficult, the vice chairman said, adding that all tasks must be carefully implemented through the concerted efforts of the government and the consultations from all parties concerned.
He hoped that governments at all levels should conscientiously implement the requirements stated in the government work report, improve government policies and measures in a timely manner, resolve conflicts and risks, and implement the overall tone of steady progress in the work process.
