Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu, stressed efforts to bear in mind the General Secretary's instructions on the work of Jiangsu under the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, implement the deployment and requirements of the government's work report, promote the province’s high quality development, embark on a new road of constructing a new Jiangsu, and safeguard the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core. He made the remarks when attending a panel discussion Tuesday with his fellow deputies from Jiangsu province at the second session of the 13th National People's Congress, China's national legislature.
Wu Zhenglong said that Premier Li Keqiang’s government work report adheres to the spirit of Xi Jinping’s socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and fully implements the spirit of the Party’s 19th National Congress and its Second Plenary Sessions and the Central Economic Work Conference, making it an inspiring report by seeking truth from facts and making pioneering explorations.
The scope and coverage of the proposed reduction of tax reductions and fees is beyond imagination, the governor said, adding that it will inevitably stimulate the vitality of market players and enhance the confidence of the whole society.
He also spoke highly of the proposal to promote the development of the Yangtze River Delta regional integration as a national strategy, which is of great significance for the Yangtze River Delta region and the overall development of the country.
Wu Zhenglong said that in the past year, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has taken the overall situation at the helm, insisted on making steady progress while maintain stability, demonstrated its strategic strength by calmly responding to the challenges, demonstrated its outstanding ability to cope with the three tough battles and demonstrated its perseverance and determination in the stimulation of vitality in the reform and opening up, which has helped the country to achieve new and significant progress in building a well-off society in an all-round way and a good start to fully implement the spirit of the 19th Party Congress.
The Governor noted that the achievements have resulted from upholding the "four consciousnesses" and safeguarding the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core by the people of all ethnic groups and government departments at all levels under the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Wu said over the past year, Jiangsu has thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi’s important instructions on the work of Jiangsu and the decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council so that it has achieved a good start in high-quality development and embarked on a new step in the construction of a new Jiangsu.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and also a crucial year for winning the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way and achieving the first centenary goal, said the governor.
