A Party and government delegation from northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region visited Jiangsu from Sunday to Tuesday. The delegation was headed by Shi Taifeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Regional People's Congress, and Xian Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region and Chairman of the Autonomous Region.
On Monday afternoon, a symposium was held in Nanjing to exchange economic and social development and discuss cooperation and development between the two provincial regions.
Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, Wu Zhenglong, Governor of Jiangsu, and Huang Lixin, Chairwoman of the Provincial Committee of CPPCC attended the symposium alongside with Shi Taifeng, Xian Hui, and Cui Bo, chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Lou Qinjian congratulated on the remarkable achievements in economic and social development in Ningxia. He said that last year was the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Over the past 60 years, Ningxia has undergone tremendous changes. Historical achievements have been made in various undertakings, fully demonstrating the political superiority of the leadership of the Communist Party of China and fully demonstrating the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
Lou noted that Jiangsu has adhered to the spirit of studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th Party Congress and the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the work of Jiangsu during his inspection tour to Jiangsu so as to promote the province’s high-quality development around the construction of a new Jiangsu.
Jiangsu and Ningxia have enjoyed a long history of exchanges although they are separated thousands of miles afar, the CPC Provincial Chief said, adding that in recent years, both places have made positive progress in economic and trade cooperation and humanities exchanges.
He hoped that under the great layout of the country’s coordinated regional development, the two provincial-level regions will improve the exchange mechanism, expand the scope of cooperation, and form a comprehensive and deep-level exchange and cooperation pattern.
Lou Qinjian said both places should give full play to the comparative advantages of the two regions, grasp the rules and requirements for building a modern industrial system, explore a cooperative model of complementary advantages and mutual benefit, open a new chapter of industrial cooperation, and open up a new space for Belt and Road cooperation, demonstrate the cultural and natural endowments and other characteristics of the two places, promote mutual development, and shore up the advantages of people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.
Shi Taifeng thanked Jiangsu for its strong support and help to Ningxia over the years. He said that deepening and expanding exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and Jiangsu is in line with the overall situation of the party and the state, and in the interest of the people of the two places.
He hoped that the two regions will continue to maintain multi-faceted mutual visits and interactions, and implement the "Minutes of Cooperation Talks in Key Fields" signed by the governments of Ningxia and Jiangsu, give full play to their respective advantages, mobilize all parties' strengths, work together for the promotion of regional coordinated development, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, strengthen industrial cooperation, industrial park construction, technological innovation, opening up, talent exchange, explore new methods, and strive to make Jiangsu-Yinchuan Industrial Park a demonstration park for the development of east-west cooperation and jointly make greater contributions to the overall development of the country.
The Ningxia Party and government delegation visited Suzhou and Nanjing where they inspected Suzhou Industrial Park, Suzhou Biomedical Industrial Park, GCL Group, Oxford University Institute of Advanced Studies in Suzhou, Tongcheng Network, the Provincial Industry Technology Research Institute, Suning Holding Group, Nanjing Jiangbei New Materials Science and Technology Park, BASF-YPC Company Limited, Smart Nanjing Center, China (Nanjing) Software Valley, and Quanfeng Group Nanjing Desheng Industrial Co., Ltd.
