The city of Nanjing in east China’s Jiangsu province will launch 500 large investment projects this year in a bid to raise its urban primacy, the municipal government said recently.
With a view to building an innovative city of global prominence, Nanjing has pinpointed 75 scientific innovation projects for 2019. They include the cyber communication and security technology innovation platform such as Zijinshan Laboratory, future cyber experiment facilities, and a number of innovative carriers such as Alibaba Jiangsu Headquarters.
The city will also focus on leading industries to promote the development of 117 advanced manufacturing projects and 173 modern service projects that include a financial cluster zone, an international finance center and the phase I project of the Laoshan Eco-tourism Experience Park.
In the meantime, Nanjing has arranged for the launch of 111 transport infrastructure projects that include the simultaneous construction on 12 rail transit systems such as the 5th and 7th subway lines, the light rail transit route connecting Nanjing and Jurong and the phase I project of the 11th subway line. Five more bridges will be built over the Yangtze River to further enhance its transport capacity.
