East China’s Jiangsu province will give full play to the construction of a high-level innovative province by building an autonomous and controllable modern industrial system with technological innovation, the provincial department of science and technology said Thursday.
In 2019, the province's science and technology department will focus on the core technology of the industry by highlighting new materials, bio-pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors as the pilot directions, and create advanced materials technology innovation centers, biomedical innovation resources collaborative operation centers and the semiconductor industry technology innovation center.
Jiangsu will arrange major national projects such as "Science and Technology Innovation 2030", focusing on forward-looking fields such as artificial intelligence, future networks, graphene, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, and implementing 100 research projects with focus to be laid on the development of 13 advanced manufacturing clusters and the integration of more than 80 results transformation projects.
Entrepreneurial innovation is the key to building a modern industrial system. In 2019, Jiangsu will fully expand its high-tech enterprise team to increase the number of high-tech enterprises in the province to 25,000 on the basis of 18,000 in 2018. At the same time, with preferential tax and financial policies to support the development of innovative enterprises, the province will strive to reduce the amount of science and technology tax revenues by more than 50 billion yuan with the total amount of technology loans reaching 53 billion yuan.
