  Regional governments in Jiangsu province are endeavoring for higher goals and greater achievements in 2019, according to the annual sessions of the local people’s congress that are going on in various parts of the province.

  In 2018, Wuxi posted 11.0 billion yuan of GDP, up 7.4% year on year and ranking second in the province.

  In the new year, Wuxi will firmly implement the core strategy of innovation-driven and industry-empowered development by launching 100 key projects at the municipal level with a total investment of over 470 billion yuan, cultivating and developing 16 key industrial manufacturing clusters and increasing the layout of futuristic industries such as 5G, artificial intelligence and graphene.

  It will also accelerate the construction of major platforms such as the National Internet of Things Innovation Center, promote the continuous improvement of water quality in the Wuxi waters of Taihu Lake, build a nationwide comprehensive transportation hub, get fully integrated into Shanghai, and strengthen the planning and docking with Suzhou and Changzhou to promote infrastructure interconnection.

  In 2019, Wuxi is expected to increase its GDP by more than 7% year on year. The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size will increase by about 8%. The income growth of urban and rural residents will be in sync with economic growth.

  In 2018, Changzhou posted an annual growth of 7% in its GDP growth.

  In the new year, Changzhou will accelerate the construction of the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone in southern Jiangsu, build a distinctive industrial technology innovation center in the Yangtze River Delta, strive to attract 17 major projects of 3 billion yuan or more, continue to promote the deep integration of the industrial chain and the innovation chain, strive to enhance the city's cultural charm and quality image, and promote the brand name images of being a cultural city, a paradise, a resort, and a city of fine food.

  In 2019, Changzhou is expected to register an annual growth of 7% in its GDP. The city's air quality rate will account for 69% of the total. Its per capita disposable income will increase by 8%.

  In 2018, Yancheng posted an annual growth of 5.5% in its GDP growth.

  In 2019, Yancheng will further promote the new path of "opening the coast, getting integrated with Shanghai, green transformation and green crossing". It will also broaden its international horizons to promote the development of the China-South Korea Yancheng Industrial Park.

  Efforts will be made to get further integrated with Shanghai by taking a more realistic step and focusing on long-term development.

  The city will also ensure that green development will become the most vivid background for its transformation and development.

  In 2019, Yancheng is expected to increase its GDP by more than 6.5%. The income of urban and rural residents will increase by 8.2% and 8.5% respectively. The business environment index will rank in the forefront of the northern and central Jiangsu regions.
