Rugao Software Park joined Zhongguancun Software Park and Shanghai Pudong Software Park to become 2018 Most Vigorous Software Park in China, according to the China Software Industry Annual Meeting, organized by China Software Industry Association on January 18.
Rugao became the only county-level city in China to win the prestigious honor.
Established in June 2009, Rugao Software Park has become a key driver for Rugao's economic transformation.
Boasting two national-level platforms - Software & IC Promotion and Entrepreneurship Center and Open-Source Space, the park plays host to 350 famous companies, with more than 20,000 employees.
The annual service outsourcing revenue reached 4 billion yuan last year, a year-on-year increase of 43 percent.
The second phase of the software park, with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan, started construction on January 2018, which will have a total floor area of 228,000 square meters.
