January 10 is the 33rd 110 National Publicity Day. Nanjing Gulou Public Security Bureau launched the song called "After Life" to show the day of millions of ordinary police officers.
It's a normal day at the Gulou Police Station in Nanjing
24 hours a day, 7 days a week
More than 1,400 police officers
Over 4,000 police auxiliaries
They're part of the national police force of a million
In different positions
They contribute their strength to the safety of Gulou District
During those dark nights
Someone sees despair
Someone sees a glimmer
But they firmly believe
After the coldness, Spring will come!
Why there's darkness that you can’t see?
because someone used their life
To keep the darkness away
I've come a long way
but it's always around the district
I've been through a lot
But to the citizens, all is sweet
For the police
The swift attack was just a moment
But life and death could be just a step away
Extraordinary in the ordinary
Surmount at the end
It's their lives
And their masterpieces;
If success and failure
Are the things one has to go through in life
Then life and death
And great peril
are the ultimate experience of life...
Treading on the ground
The mud and the youth
It's the hearts of the guardians of Gulou district
Exchange the safety of the people...
This is something that worth dying for!
In the video, this picture went viral! An exhausted old man, sitting in the police station and holding the police officer’s right arm, fell asleep peacefully...
“I don’t know who you’re, but I know who to count on!” Some netizen remarked.
Who took this picture and what stories are behind it?
This picture was taken on the day of Apr. 26, 2017 according to a reporter. That morning, the police station at Yancangqiao of Nanjing Gulou Public Security Bureau received a call for help, a 90-year-old lady fell near the bus stop at Sajiawan. Police officer Li Zongqing and his colleagues took action immediately and sent the elderly to hospital and helped her go through the emergency.
The scenario happened right before officer Li Zongqing retired from his position. In June 2018, Li retired.
I don’t know who you are, but I depend on you. This is trust, this is belief.
When you cannot see darkness, it’s not because darkness doesn’t exist but because some people light it up for you with their life.
Days and nights, the four seasons, it’s the police officers who protect us and guard us.
We love you, police officers.
