The 2018 Jiangsu Cross-border E-Commerce Summit was held on Friday. Many industry experts and corporate executives addressed hot issues such as the complex and changeable global trade pattern, the use of new foreign trade format for the promotion of the transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu’s manufacturing enterprises with the concept of "Internet +".
The participants discussed in depth the core topics of Chinese corporate making inroads into overseas market, cross-border brand building, targeted supply chain, digital technology application, and team management. Experts from cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba share their ideas from the perspective of actual operations, opening up new ideas for sellers to expand their business.
In recent years, the vigorous development of the global cross-border e-commerce platform has changed the traditional trade mode, reducing the cost and threshold of international trade, and creating a historic opportunity for the growth of SMEs.
As a major foreign trade province, Jiangsu is one of the provinces that started to explore the development of cross-border e-commerce earlier in the country. At present, Jiangsu registers more than 6,000 cross-border e-commerce import and export business enterprises with its cross-border export sales accounting for 11.3% of the country’s total.
In order to promote the healthy development of cross-border e-commerce, Jiangsu has also issued a series of policy initiatives. The province has established 15 provincial cross-border e-commerce industrial parks and 4 public overseas warehouses, which promote cross-border e-commerce services, applications and logistics, warehousing and other industrial agglomeration.
