Held in Nanjing Monday morning, the Opening Ceremony of Fifth Silk Road Youth Tour attracted 48 young students from four universities including Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing University of Art and Technology and Nanjing Vocational and Technical College in 18 countries along the "Belt and Road" to have a get-together in 1865 of Nanjing Science and Technology Creative Industry Park. These students will visit Nanjing, Huai'an and Yangzhou during the seven-day trip to experience Jiangsu's economic development, study Chinese traditional culture and promote friendly exchanges between China and other countries.
At the opening ceremony, the wonderful performance made the students feel as if they were in the vast desert and the billowing sea, and excited by the footsteps of the pioneers who spread civilization and promoted trade. The "Silk Road Youth Tour" is also designed to provide a platform for young people from all over the world, to visit the silk road of Jiangsu city, to enjoy the profoundness of traditional Chinese culture, to feelthe multi - cultural differences and to experience the cooperation of openness, tolerance and mutual benefit.It is a feast of culture and a communication of civilization.
After the opening ceremony, the foreign students also experienced cultural creative display projects including paper-cut, clay sculpture, guqin, and Yun Brocade.
Held once a year, this activity has seen four editions through 2014 to 2017.
