He made the remarks Sunday at a provincial symposium on the promotion of transportation infrastructure construction.
Wu was briefed on the traffic construction of the whole province and the overall arrangement of investment plans for next year before pointing out that under the strong leadership of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, the province has worked together to overcome difficulties and promoted traffic construction effectively and orderly with significant progress made in major projects.
It is necessary to take the initiative to implement the country's major strategic deployment, give full play to the overlapping effect of the national strategies such as the Belt and Roadinitiative, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta, highlight the province "1+3" "key functional area strategy, and promote the province's traffic construction so as to give full play to the basic, strategic and leading role of transportation in economic and social development, the governor said.
He called on the province to adhere to prioritize quality and efficiency, increase effective transportation investment, boost the construction of three-dimensional integrated hub, promote rural road construction, and improve the level of interconnection so as to better meet the people’s demands for easy travel and strive to ensure that the improvement of transportation infrastructures measure up to people’s expectations.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that all localities and departments should provide strong support for transportation construction on the basis of strict adherence to the ecological red line and the red line of cultivated land protection, do a good job in planning and preliminary work, provide funds and land security, and solve problems for the project construction, create a good environment so as to work together to accelerate the establishment of a modern, comprehensive transportation system that is safe, convenient, efficient, and green, and write a new chapter in the construction of a transportation powerhouse in the country.
