Donghai county, known as the hometown of crystal in northeastern Jiangsu, has encouraged an increasing number of international students to take a "bite" of cultural legacies such as calligraphy, paper-cutting and ink painting. They are mostly from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Turkmenistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea and Kazakhstan.

In southeastern Jiangsu's Wuxi city, the local Vocational Institute of Commerce has blended various intangible cultural heritages into regular courses and encourages international students to delve more into the arts.
