East China’s Jiangsu province has issued the Three-Year Action Plan for the Development of Robot Industry between 2018 and 2020 in a bid to speed up the cultivation of high-end equipment industry clusters.
The Action Plan proposes that the output value of the province's robot industry will reach 100 billion yuan within three years, with an average annual growth rate of over 35%.
Specifically, by 2020, the province will have produced 10, 000 self-owned brand industrial robots each year. The precision reducers, servo motors and drives and controllers for robots will have reached the international standards of similar products. 200 or more robots will have been applied to key industries. Mass application of industrial robots will be made available in housekeeping services, elderly care services and support for people with disabilities, medical rehabilitation, education and entertainment.
In order to achieve the target requirements, the Action Plan proposes to accelerate the development of a provincial-level robot manufacturing innovation center and promote the establishment of a national-level robot testing and evaluation organization. More than 60 robot demonstration application projects will have been implemented in the next three years with around 20 promotion and application centers of various types of robots launched. Efforts will be made to cultivate leading enterprises and industrial robot clusters with mutual complementary advantages and distinctive features.
