The multi-media news coverage called The Rising Tide of Yangtze River launched by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and 13 municipal television stations goes to Yangzhou on Friday. This is the second stop of the news coverage.

At 9:30 a.m., six Yangzhou citizens stood on the stage and shared their stories of the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up policy at Wenchang Garden community of Yangzhou city.

At the event, an old object exhibition attracted many people to visit. Many of the exhibited objects were daily necessities in the past, including some home appliances that almost completely disappear today.

Collector Zhang Yushun showed us a Yangzhou-made Qionghua watch that he purchased in the 1980s. He also collected a Baihua Brand radio that was also made in Yangzhou. The radio was an important channel to listen to the news of the country back then.

A Photography Exhibition of Yangzhou City was also held at the square. The photos were taken by Zou Ansheng, a photographer from central Chinas Henan Province. He has been living in Yangzhou for nearly 60 years. Zou Ansheng told us: The city of Yangzhou is getting more and more beautiful. I compared the old photos with the current ones and found that Yangzhou has changed a lot.

On Saturday, the news coverage will go to Yancheng city. Yancheng citizens can participate the event and witness the changes in the last 40 years since the reform and opening-up policy.
