Oxford University has launched its first overseas research institute in Suzhou city, Jiangsu province. The inauguration ceremony was held Thursday in Suzhou. It is the first research institute established overseas in the 800-year history of the University of Oxford. The first phase of the Suzhou Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Oxford will conduct research in the fields of biomedical engineering and medical health, nanotechnology and functional materials, environment and new energy.
