Downloading a 1G HD movie in the future will take in less than 2 seconds as the 5G technology has emerged in response to the explosive growth of mobile data traffic and massive device connectivity in the future.
According to the schedule for the application of China's 5G network announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in 2019, China will realize pre-commercial use of the 5G technology with official commercialization scheduled for 2020.
The Jiangsu branch of China Unicom has taken the lead in completing the first 5G scale deployment in Nanjing by docking IPv6 high-speed channels with Baidu, Ali, Tencent and iQiyi respectively.
The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have pinpointed two pilot cities in Jiangsu, namely Nanjing and Suzhou, to build a 5G trial network. At present, China Unicom has built more than 50 stations in the Nanjing’s Jiangbei High-tech Development Zone and the Jiangning college town with the first phase of wireless broadband operation already in service.
From a global perspective, the 5G industry chain is expected to be introduced to the market in the second half of 2019.
In terms of enterprise cloud, China Unicom and Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Baidu Cloud and other strategic partners have achieved horizontal penetration, mutual integration, and cloud integration.
