The Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPPCC convened a chairpersons meeting Monday to address the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the promotion of agricultural and rural modernization. The meeting was presided over by Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the Provincial Committee of CPPCC.
Huang Lixin emphasized that Jiangsu must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and focus on the decision-making arrangements of the provincial party committee and the provincial government so as to actively promote various key tasks of rural revitalization.
She said for the revitalization of rural industries and the promotion of quality and efficiency of modern agriculture, we must accelerate the cultivation of talents, boost farmers’ income growth, accelerate the construction of rural culture, and focus on improving rural civilization.
The chairwoman urged greater efforts to be made for the improvement of the rural living and production environment and the habitable homeland.
Huang also called for greater efforts for party building at the grassroots communities so as to ensure orderly and harmonious rural society, improve community services and bolster villagers’ autonomy system.
She stressed that innovating institutional mechanisms is the effective way of promoting the integration of urban and rural development, adding that the province should deepen the reform of the rural land use system, improve the investment guarantee mechanism and the rural asset transfer trading system, and deepen the reform of the household registration system so as to make greater contribution to the promotion of high-quality development and the construction of new Jiangsu.
