47 Migrant Workers Honored as Jiangsu New Citizens for Brave Acts

  Altogether 47 migrant workers, including 35 people and 5 groups were honored for their brave acts at the 9th Awarding Ceremony of the “Jiangsu New Citizen of Behaving Righteously”. The award is given by a foundation in Jiangsu to honor those who do boldly for justice cause. 

  Among them were a man named Chen Huaiyuan from Shandong Province. On August 14th this year, Mr. Sun and his wife from Nantong city went for fishing, but accidentally fell into the river. Chen Huaiyuan heard their help, and rushed over to save them. Unfortunately, Sun's wife passed away. Sun and his twin daughters then found Chen Huaiyuan and thanked him.

  “Crane Man”: Saving Lives Against Time

  Among the award winners, we also saw Yao Xiaobing, a guy who was called “crane man” that moved many people earlier this year. On Jan. 3rd, 2018, a bus in Changzhou city crashed into the canal after trying to avoid an ORV that was traveling in the opposite direction. At the critical moment, Yao Xiaobing, a crane driver who was passing by, quickly got off his crane to judge the situation, and immediately started a rescue operation with the crane.

  Yao then asked the victims standing on the hook, and transferred them into the safety zone.

  The 47 award winners this year include security guards, delivery guys, full-time drivers, hotel chefs, company managers, directors, hospital nurses, professional technical workers and so on. Among them, 18 are from other provinces and 29 are migrant workers from other cities of Jiangsu.
