Enterprises from east China’s Jiangsu province have made aggressive efforts to tap into the China International Import Expo or CIIE for business partnerships and cooperative deals.
More than 20,000 companies and around 50,000 professional visitors from Jiangsu participated in the Expo. The procurement focuses on smart manufacturing and high-end equipment, medical equipment and medical care, service trade, food and agricultural products, electronics, beauty personal care and daily necessities.
Zhenjiang Bat Aircraft Manufacturing Plant signed a contract with Slovenian businesses on the manufacturing of light electric aircraft. The introduction of key equipment and new technologies will effectively promote the vigorous development of Zhenjiang’s related industries.
Suzhou Hengli Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. and Japan TMT Machinery Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation contract worth US$750 million to jointly develop production equipment for the new chemical fiber spinning process.

The China International Import Expo or CIIE, the world's first import-themed national expo, kickedoff Monday in Shanghai. More than 3,600 enterprises from some 130 countries and regions, including over 200 Fortune 500 companies, have exhibited their new products and new technologies in a bid to make greater presence on the Chinese market.
The CIIE is "a major policy for China to push for a new round of high-level opening-up and a major measure for China to take the initiative to open its market to the world," Xi said when delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
More than 3,600 companies from different countries are expected to hold discussions and seek common development with over 400,000 purchasers from China and overseas.
