The General Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government has recently issued its opinions for promoting imports.
The government circular consists of 20 policies in six fields - optimizing the structure of imported goods, developing importers, building platforms, improving the international market layout, strengthening fiscal, taxation and financial incentives, and enhancing trade facilitation.
Jiangsu’s import will give priorities to the advanced technology equipment and key components, high-quality consumer goods, urgently needed drugs, medical equipment and rehabilitation and old-age care supplies. Large medical equipment that the province lacks now will receive prioritized approval within the permission of national policies.
The circular also states support for Jiangsu's participation in the China International Import Expo and hosting of key import fairs, such as China (Kunshan) Brand Products Import Expo, Jiangsu International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition and Nanjing International Consumer Goods Expo.
Efforts will also be made to promote the building of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi, experiment with a new cross-border e-commerce model, and accelerate the parallel auto import system at the Zhangjiagang Bonded Port Area for steady growth.
