Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, went on an inspection tour Wednesday and Thursday in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and greeted the officials from Jiangsu engaged in the province’s paired assistance program there.
The Jiangsu delegation headed by Lou visited the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture and Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, demanding that it is necessary to regard the development of Xinjiang as an important political task endowed by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core as a practical action to implement the Party Central Committee’s strategy of governing Xinjiang by further enhancing political stance and strengthening system planning.
On Wednesday morning, Lou Qinjian paid a visit to the People’s Hospital of the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture. The hospital is aided by nine hospitals from Jiangsu and rated the only first class hospital in the region.
Lou also visited the medical research institute, greeted the local patients who had been treated with heart surgeries, conducted simulated remote diagnosis at the remote consultation center with experts from Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital and had a cordial talk with the doctors from Jiangsu.
He later went to an e-commerce store funded by suning.com, one of the largest private online retailers in China, to learn about the distribution channels and cost of logistics, demanding that the local governments should give full play to the advantages of e-commerce, further improve the industrial chain of agriculture, industry and service industries, and help the prefecture to increase the farmers’ income.
The CPC Provincial Chief also visited the local vocational school, a high school and a sightseeing outlet in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture.
During his inspection tour in the two prefectures, Lou Qinjian presided over a symposium to address the hot issues concerning the province’s further implementation of the paired assistance program in Xinjiang. He spoke highly of the efforts that have been made and the progresses that have been achieved in the past years in the promotion of the social and economic development in Xinjiang through the paired assistance program.
