The 6th Jiangsu Internet Conference was kicked off Wednesday morning in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province.
Wang Yanwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and head of the Provincial Publicity Department and Wang Xinzhe, chief economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Academician Wu Hequan and Yin Hao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made a special report.
Wang Yanwen said that Jiangsu is a powerhouse of the Internet industry and under leadership of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, the province has achieved remarkable progress in the development and governance of the Internet industry.
She said it is necessary to promote the deep integration and development of traditional media and emerging media. Efforts should be made to break through the core technologies, hold firm the initiative of Internet development, and strengthen the guiding role so as to let the information sector better contribute to economic and social development.
The publicity chief also noted that it is necessary to further build a green barrier to make the cyberspace clearer and safer in a bid to constantly create a good environment and fully demonstrate the comprehensive effects of the policy system.
The China Industrial Internet Jiangsu Research Institute was unveiled at the opening ceremony.
