The China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park has shifted its focus from capital introduction and investment to talent recruitment. And the diversified cooperation model has provided a successful example of scientific development for Sino-foreign cooperation.

This mat is the world's first intelligent monitoring device based on high-precision fiber optic sensing technology. It can reach 40 to 60 cm in depth. This technology was incubated in the Suzhou Institute of the National University of Singapore before making foray into the market.

Lanper Medical is not alone in Suzhou Industrial Park as a case in point of the start-up companies that are co-incubated by China and Singapore.

In 2010, the Suzhou Institute of the National University of Singapore was established, becoming the first research institute in China to be opened and operated by a world-class university.

In the past 8 years, the institute has customized 14 research groups and 4 research centers in the field of civil and social sciences around the six natural science fields, including nanomaterials, biomedicine, energy and environmental protection technologies.

The innovative service system has nurtured 54 innovative companies and given rise to the world's first human hand, foot and mouth disease genetic engineering vaccine, the world's first flexible throat surgery robot.

The cooperation between China and Singapore goes beyond the field of scientific and technological innovation into the fields of financial innovation and social governance with a large number of achievements such as the Nanyang High-tech Innovation Center and the China-Singapore International Talent Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone.

Driven by various industries and talent policies, since the beginning of last year, the park has added 14 high level talents funded by the national Thousand Talents program, adding up to a total of 149. And the entrepreneurship-oriented talents account for nearly 7% of the national total.

While continuously developing and expanding itself, the park has sought active integration into the Belt and Road initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt development program so as to replicate the practical experience of China-Singapore cooperation in more places. The China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co., Ltd., the main body of the park development, has successively implemented park development and operation projects in Suqian, Nantong and Zhangjiagang and its profitability has maintained a high growth.
