Starting on Thursday, scenic areas across the country will cut their admission tickets, which will help tourists save money for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
According to the data released by the National Development and Reform Commission, as of August 29, 21 provinces have introduced price reduction or free opening measures for 157 scenic spots.
More scenic areas followed suit as Shaolin Temple, Longmen Grottoes of Luoyang, Yuntai Mountain of Jiaozuo, Xiaolangdi, Jiuzhaigou, Emei Mountain, Leshan Giant Buddha raced to announce admission ticket price cuts.
The National Development and Reform Commission recently held a working conference to tackle the overcharging of admission tickets to scenic areas, urging tourism operators to ensure that the price cuts are implemented without any compromise.
The State Market Supervision Administration also issued a notice on Wednesday, demanding that local authorities should strengthen market price regulation during the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day Holiday.
