As new semester begins in universities, the Nanjing Public Security Bureau's entry and exit division has seen the peak for international student to go through the registration procedures.
Liu Yan, head of the foreigners’ visa section, said, "Nanjing has more international students this year compared with last year, and there have been peak of registration of foreign students. Since September, the average daily acceptance exceeded 400, up 12 percent over the same period last year."
In order to speed up the procedures, the entry and exit division has taken the national lead in establishing an information management system for international students, which can import the university’s accommodation information in batches. In addition, students can apply through the WeChat public account. Currently, more than 1,000 foreign students register their temporary accommodation information through WeChat every day.
