Renmin University of China has established the Silk Road College on its Suzhou campus to train graduate students for the countries and regions along the Belt and Road. The first batch of the graduate students of the Silk Road College registered Monday for the new semester.
Boris is from Russia's Nefteyugansk, a small Siberian town with a population of only 100,000. Due to the discovery of oil and gas, it is now an important energy base in Russia.
Previously, Boris had a one-and-a-half-month exchange experience in Beijing.
Boris has chosen Chinese political economy as his field of study at the Silk Road College as he is quite optimistic about the cooperation between China and Russia under the "Belt and Road" initiative.
This year is the first time for the Silk Road College of Renmin University of China to enroll foreign students with more than 500 applications submitted for approval. Through multiple rounds of interviews and screenings, 78 students from 37 countries and regions were admitted to study for master’s degrees under the Contemporary China Research project, which is subdivided into political, economic, legal, and cultural and other research fields.
