Wu Zhenglong, governor of east China’s Jiangsu province, went on an inspection tour to Suqian city and Huai’an city Sunday and Monday on the progress of rural revitalization and ecological improvement.
When visiting Jiangba Town of Hongze District, Huai’an city, Wu Zhenglong inquired about the planning and construction of rural residential settlements and model units, arguing that housing is a major event that concerns the vital interests of the people.
He urged the local officials to seize the opportunities, respect the wishes of the farmers, motivate the enthusiasm of the people, adhere to planning and guidance, optimize spatial layout, improve supporting facilities, strengthen design, inherit rural context, and retain the memories of nostalgia in the process of demolition and relocation.
When visiting the B&Bs of Jiangba town, Wu Zhenglong said that it is necessary to build a beautiful and ecologically livable countryside, develop new industries and new business forms such as rural tourism and leisure sightseeing, and make the industry more prosperous and the people more affluent.
During his visit to Jinhu County Rural Property Rights Trading Center, the governor pointed out that it is necessary to continuously deepen reforms, actively explore the paths and methods for sustainable development, activate markets, entities, factors, and increase farmers' income.
The Governor inspected the Jinhu County Domestic Waste Sanitary Landfill to check the rectification of the problems troubleshot by the central environmental protection inspectors. He stressed that it is necessary to take environmental protection inspection as an opportunity to resolutely lay the groundwork for pollution prevention and control, to strengthen the forward-looking research on the layout of pollution disposal facilities, make advance and scientific planning for strict control.
After inspecting the historical remains of Hongze Lake and the water quality there, Wu Zhenglong said that it is necessary to prioritize ecological protection and green development, highlight the protection and inheritance of the Grand Canal culture, and build an eco-friendly cultural corridor with high quality.
Wu Zhenglong also inspected a sluice gate of Sihong County to check the polluted river section and made in-depth understanding of the damages and the cultural and the ecological protection of the Hongze Lake wetland, encouraging everyone to strengthen their confidence and tide over the difficulties with the help of the party committee and government.
He demanded the cadres should properly arrange the orderly progress of the production and life of the people, work hard to improve the ecological environment, and turn the green waters into gold and silver mines so that the people's lives will be further improved.
