The 4th China Tibet Tourism Culture International Expo is being held in Lhasa, capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. The exhibits are attracting many visitors from home and abroad. Let's go and take a close look.
230 exhibiting companies, including 96 overseas companies, signed up for this year's collection of exhibitions with the theme of Tibetan Gifts. The exhibits include special products such as Cordyceps sinensis, yak meat, Tibetan incense, Thangka, barley wine and traditional ethnic handicrafts. The unique handicrafts in Tibet have been well received, and the rich tourism resources atop the roof of the world have also attracted many domestic and foreign tourists.
Officials, experts and representatives of companies from countries including Nepal, India, Malaysia and Thailand, as well as other Chinese provinces and regions, attended the Fourth China Tibet Tourism and Culture Expo, which will last until Tuesday.
Forums and exhibitions on Tibet's tourism, culture and the Tibetan medicine and mineral water industry, as well as investment and trade promotion will be organized during the expo.
Tibet is promoting tourism, which has become a major driver of the region's growth. It currently contributes over 30 percent to the region's total GDP.
In the first half of 2018, Tibet received about 11 million domestic and foreign tourists, up 29.6 percent year on year, generating tourism revenue of about 12.5 billion yuan or 1.8 billion U.S. dollars.
In the meantime, Lhasa Snow Eagle General Aviation showcased its high-altitude Airbus H125 helicopter during the exhibition in a bid promote the high altitude helicopter sightseeing tour. At present, the company has 14 aircrafts, 8 of which are Airbus H125. Three air travel routes have been opened, which not only meet the local aviation tourism market, but also undertake emergency rescue missions.
