The first China-European container truck "Su Xin" arrived in Suzhou Friday morning to become the "fourth logistics channel" between Europe and China after aviation, sea and railway.
At 1 o'clock Friday morning, the 13-meter-long heavy truck loaded with raw materials imported from Germany entered a foreign-funded factory in Wuzhong District.
The container truck left Stuttgart of German on August 22 and traveled past Poland, Belorussia, Russia and Kazakhstan before entering China on September 1st at the Horgos Port in northwest China’s Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
The China-Europe freight train is usually made up of 41 containers before it sets foot on the journey. In the meantime, the railway import agents generally do not accept the bulk cargo of the small and medium cargo owners.
This time, the container truck will transport the goods from China to Europe or vice versa with only two containers.
The China-Europe freight train route is mostly supported by air, sea and land transportation. The opening of the truck container service has offered a new option for cost-saving and time-saving purposes.
The normalized operation of the container truck is expected to benefit the enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta and the countries along the Belt and Road.
