Bosch Suzhou opened its New R&D Center last Thursday. Governor Wu Zhenglong met with Dr. Volkmar Denner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bosch Group, and participated in the opening ceremony together with Denner and Zhou Naixiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal CPC Committee.
Wu Zhenglong expressed his warm welcome to Volkmar Denner and his gratitude to Bosch for its support to Jiangsu Development for many years and congratulated the opening of the new R&D center in Suzhou.
He noted that Bosch, as one of the Fortune 500 companies, the world's largest automotive technology supplier, and one of the initiators of Industry 4.0, has continued to lead the industry's technological transformation and made outstanding contributions to the development of the global industry, especially the automotive industry.
Bosch has continuously advanced its various undertakings in Jiangsu to a new level with exciting development trend since it started its business endeavors in the province, he said.
The governor remarked that Jiangsu has a solid industrial foundation and rich resources for science and education and Suzhou is a highland for opening up and innovation, adding that Bosch’s establishment of the its China R&D center in Suzhou reflects the Group's strategic vision and its firm confidence in China's economic development.
The launch of the new R&D center is of great significance, he said.
Wu said Bosch's development philosophy is highly aligned with Jiangsu's industrial development direction and it is hoped that Bosch will invest more high-end resources and quality projects in Jiangsu so as to further expand the new space and new fields of mutual benefit and win-win on the basis of the good cooperation in the past.
Jiangsu will strive to provide the best business environment for foreign enterprises to develop in Jiangsu, the governor said.
Mr Denner said Bosch Suzhou has a leading development role in a growing number of global platform projects by implementing parent plant responsibilities in a global production network.
During his stay in Suzhou, Wu Zhenglong also inspected Bosch Suzhou to learn more about the company's innovations in the fields of autonomous driving, artificial intelligence, smart city, intelligent manufacturing, etc., encouraging the enterprise to take root in Jiangsu and make new breakthroughs in new product development and new technology applications.
