Governor Wu Zhenglong met Thursday morning with some guests attending the 2018 China Artificial Intelligence Summit before attending the opening ceremony of the Nanjing Golden Autumn Economic and Trade Fair.
Wu Zhenglong welcomed the arrival of the distinguished guests and thanked everyone for their long-term support to Jiangsu. He briefly introduced the economic and social development of Jiangsu and said that Jiangsu's development has now stood at a new starting point.
He said Jiangsu adheres to Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as the guide and practices the new development concept in a profound way so as to ensure that its high-quality development rank among the forefront in the country.
Artificial intelligence is a strategic high-tech that leads the future and is an important driving force for the new round of industrial technology change and optimization and upgrading, the governor said, adding that Jiangsu enjoys obvious advantages in its talent pool and industrial resources and its artificial intelligence has a good foundation due to its pre-emptive development.
Wu Zhenglong remarked that we will adhere to innovation as the primary driving force, firmly grasp the new trend of industrial development, promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and the real economy, continue to promote new technologies, new products, new models, accelerate the transformation of new and old kinetic energy, promote quality change, efficiency change, and dynamic change, focus on building a modern economic system so as to better meet the people’s need for high-quality life.
He hoped that all the guests will pass on their wisdom for mutual development and a shared future together. We will further improve the accuracy and effectiveness of our services and provide a quality business environment for everyone to invest and develop in Jiangsu, he said.
Pan Yunhe, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other guests said that at present, artificial intelligence is closely coupled with information technology such as the Internet and big data, and is deeply integrated with economic transformation and social development, showing broad prospects and unlimited potential.
They noted that Jiangsu’s artificial intelligence has shown good momentum due to its good industrial foundation and rich innovation resources.
They will integrate various resources, improve innovation capabilities, focus on practical applications, boost Jiangsu's development and growth of new kinetic energy, and promote the artificial intelligence industry to a higher level.
