A new railway along the southern areas of Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province will start construction before the end of Sept., with a scheduled construction period of 42 months, according to Jiangsu media on Aug. 21.
The Southern Yangtze River Intercity Railway will have a design speed of 350 km/h and 8 stations - Nanjing South, Jurong, Jintan, Wujin, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Taicang.
More importantly, passengers can transfer to the Shanghai-Nantong Railway in Taicang Station.
The minimum train interval will be 3 minutes.
It is estimated that 50 trains per day will run the line at the start, 100 trains in the near future and 130 trains in the long term.
