Starting on Wednesday, the State Council’s Tenth Inspection Team, headed by Xu Ganlu, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Director of the State Immigration Administration, conducted on-the-spot inspections on Jiangsu’s implementation of major decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met with the inspection team. Governor Wu Zhenglong attended a meeting jointly held by the inspection team and the provincial government.
Xu Ganlu conveyed the spirit of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on strengthening the supervision work, and introduced the key contents, work arrangements and related requirements of the General Inspection.
He pointed out that the supervision will be carried out in accordance with Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and supervise the implementation of the central economic work conference and the "Government Work Report" to determine whether the objectives and tasks are implemented by focusing on the tasks of economic and social development that are most concerned by the general public.
On the basis of comprehensive supervision, the inspection team will focus on the progress of the "three tough battles" for the next three years that include preventing major risks, targeted poverty alleviation and pollution control, the rural revitalization strategy, the expansion of domestic demand, the promotion of high-level opening-up, deepening the reform of streamlining administration and delegating powers to lower-level governments, promoting innovation-driven development, and improving people's livelihood to ensure that the decision-making policies and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council take effect.
The inspection team will summarize the innovative, exemplary, typical experiences and practices Jiangsu has accumulated in the process of implementing the major decision-making arrangements of the Party’s Central Committee and the State Council, visit the grassroots communities to solicit opinions from and suggestions from entrepreneurs, researchers, and grassroots cadres and people so as to gain a deep understanding of the first-hand situation.
On behalf of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government, Lou Qinjian extended his warm welcome to the inspection team for its inspection tour to Jiangsu.
The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Chief noted that since the beginning of this year, under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Jiangsu has made sustained progress in the implementation of the decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions for the work of Jiangsu by following the requirements of high-quality development and implementing new developments, promoting the emancipation of the mind, accelerating the pace of reform and opening up, win the "three tough battles" for the next three years that include preventing major risks, targeted poverty alleviation and pollution control and strives to accelerate the construction of new Jiangsu.
Wu Zhenglong said that the inspection team’s visit to Jiangsu for on-the-spot inspection will play a strong guiding and promoting role in promoting the province’s high-quality development.
He pledged that Jiangsu will adhere to Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as a guide, enhance political stance, and implement the major policies of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and make the opportunity an important driving force for fully accomplishing the main objectives of economic and social development throughout the year.
The State Council announced in early July that it will launch an inspection program for its departments and local governments.
The goal of the inspection is to make sure that government policies are implemented and the major tasks of social and economic development this year will be completed.
The inspection will cover six fields, including the battle of preventing major risks, reducing poverty and fighting pollution, and the revitalization of rural areas; the implementation of innovation-driven development, promoting new industries and upgrading traditional industries; and the reform to streamline administration, delegate powers, and improve regulation and services.
