The city of Yangzhou is gearing up the preparations for the 19th Provincial Games that will take place in 30 days.
Teams from 10 departments including public security, power supply and urban construction made a vow in Yangzhou Tuesday morning to provide efficient service guarantee for the Provincial Games.
Trial operation and commissioning have started for the 19 newly built and rebuilt stadiums. 12 of these venues were converted on the basis of frugality.
On the banks of the Taiping River in the east of Yangzhou City, several large-scale sports paintings are particularly eye-catching over the competition site for rowing and canoeing event that is converted from an originally abandoned factory building. According to the organizing committee, the site for the rowing and canoeing event will be developed into a sports center following the close of the Provincial Games.
More than 7,000 volunteers and amateur actors will participate in the performances at the opening and closing ceremonies, which are the highlight of the Provincial Games. More than 1,000 volunteers from Jiangsu Tourism Vocational College are being trained more than 8 hours a day by practicing each exercise repeatedly.
