The price department has announced a plan to cut the general industrial and commercial electricity prices for the third time in order to reduce the energy cost of enterprises and promote the development of the real economy, the provincial price bureau said Tuesday. According to the requirements of "the average industrial and commercial electricity price is reduced by 10% on average" as prescribed in the Government Work Report delivered at the National People's Congress early this year, it is estimated that Jiangsu will save about 8.5 billion yuan in electricity bills for enterprises and other general industrial and commercial users every year.
Since the start of this year, Jiangsu lowered the general industrial and commercial electricity prices on April 1 and May 1 respectively, reducing the electricity price by 4.26 points per kWh.
It is estimated that the annual electricity expenditure of general industrial and commercial users will be reduced by 4.55 billion yuan. These two price cuts have reduced the catalog electricity price of the general businesses by 5.3%.
