The Suzhou Garden City conservation management project submitted by Suzhou won the 2018 Asian Metropolitan Landscape Award, which is the highest honor for urban construction in Asia.
In late July, 20 projects from China, Japan, South Korea and other countries entered the final review of the 2018 Asian Metropolitan Landscape Awards. In the end, 11 projects including the SuzhouGarden City conservation management project won the grand prize.
The protection management project of SuzhouGarden City promotes the protection and inheritance of urban cultural heritage by constructing a system, accelerating restoration, preparing plans, expanding openness, and activating utilization.
Recently, the fourth batch of Suzhou Landscape Directory has been reviewed to increase the number of Suzhou gardens to 108. 3 gardens will be opened to visitors when repair is done in the second half of the year. By then, the city will open 82 gardens, accounting for 76% of the total.
