The 2018 Summer Camp for boosting relations of different ethnicities entitled “Unity of all ethnicities” concluded Sunday afternoon at Jinling Library in Nanjing. Children of different ethnicities from Qinghai Province, Yining city in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Nanjing in Jiangsu Province bid goodbye to each other after being together for two weeks. The closing ceremony of the summer camp was held Sunday afternoon at Jinling Library. Children from Nanjing, Yining and Qinghai watched the review video of the summer camp together and showed their talents. Jinling Library also donated e-books to campers and the representatives of the teachers at the ceremony.
The summer camp mainly features in interacting of children among different ethnic groups. On July 18th, 20 families from Nanjing became host families with 20 families from Qinghai and Yi’ning respectively. Then, they went to Qinghai and Yi’ning to enjoy the ethnic customs and the natural scenery together with their counterparts.
After that, children from Qinghai and Yi’ning came to Nanjing on July 24th to experience advanced technologies and the profound cultures of this ancient capital.

The summer camp is mainly organized by the Youth League Committee of Nanjing, Yining and Qinghai. According to the organizer, the summer camp was first initiated in 2016.

After half month of being together
they went through a process
from strangers to acquaintances and finally friends
These kids have formed deep relationships
and that in fact also pushes
in-depth interaction between two families
and cultural integration between two places
This year is the second year of the summer camp between Nanjing and Yi’ning and the third year between Nanjing and Qinghai. It is expected to let the children of different ethnic backgrounds open up their minds and build up a bridge of friendship between different ethnicities.
