The 8th Jiangsu Book Fair concluded Monday in Suzhou after a huge multitude of books and a rich variety of reading promotion activities provided a cultural and ideological feast for the book fans during the exhibition period.
The 8th Jiangsu Book Fair provides readers with a comprehensive reading platform with more than 500 publishing houses turning up at the book fair to showcase more than 100,000 selected books. Many people, both young and old, were seen pushing the shopping cart loaded with their coveted books, a strong indication that traditional book reading still has a strong vitality.
As the highlight of this book fair, the theme publishing house venue set up 11 special counters to ensure that the readers are rewarded with the books they go after. The average daily sales in the Suzhou exhibition venue reached 1 million yuan in the three days before the opening of the book fair.
This year's book fair also saw the clustering of creative shows such as a batch of new reading spaces that include farmer's bookstores and Suzhou-style study rooms where readers can go where they can read.
Some physical bookstores were so ingenious that they triggered the readers’ enthusiasm through blind selection of books such as scanning code and searching for words to stimulate readers' interest in reading.
On the basis of recommending quality books, this year's book fair paid more attention to exciting readers' reading needs with exciting activities through more than 170 key reading and promotion activities.

The 8th Jiangsu Book Fair is organized by the provincial government and hosted by the Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department, the Provincial Press and Publication Bureau of Radio and Television, and the Suzhou Municipal People's Government.
