Since last year, the Provincial Agricultural Committee has given instructions to 12 counties listed in the poverty alleviation program to build a number of agricultural industrial projects with good industrial base and strong driving capacity so as to promote the income of the people. As of the first half of this year, more than half of the projects have been completed and more than half of the special funds have been spent.
Government at all levels in Xiangshui County have relied on the leading agricultural enterprises to develop the broccoli industry through the "1+1" cooperation and joint construction program, and to further improve the income of low-income households while launching regional characteristic brands.
The 20,000-square-meter vegetable nursery center is an agricultural industry enrichment project jointly established by local enterprises and the county government. The construction fund of 7 million yuan is jointly borne by both parties. The new model has not only reduced the investment cost of enterprises, but made the operating benefits of the local poverty alleviation more secure due to the participation of market entities. At present, the main body of the project has been completed and will be put into operation in late July.
As of the end of June this year, 38 of the 75 agricultural industry enrichment projects in the 12 key counties in the poverty alleviation program have been completed, involving provincial special funds of 52.08 million yuan and accounting for 50% and 51of the total number of projects and provincial special funds respectively. Among them, the agricultural industry enrichment projects in Fengxian County and Xiangshui County have been fully completed, and projects in 10 counties or districts such as Suining County, Guanyun County and Shuyang County are progressing in an orderly manner.
