An information technology research institute led by famed Russian academician Shakhnov officially opened at Yuhua Street, Yuhuatai District of Nanjing city on July 10.

In the next three years, the institute will introduce one foreign academician and high-end talent a year to promote technology transfer in the district.

The institute’s new inventions include a non-invasive blood glucose meter based on spectroscopy technology. Mr Shakhnov, the academic mastermind of the research institute, is a scholar from the Russian Academy of Sciences and a professor at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University

The institute was established based on the cooperation with famous universities and research institutions such as Bauman Moscow State Technical University and ITMO University.

It will set up an international innovative technology research and development center, a high-tech transfer center, an international innovation and entrepreneurship center, an international innovative talent institute and an international open laboratory.

In the future, the institute will carry out research and development on core, key technologies and innovative systems in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, intelligent sensing technologies and bio-radar, and accelerate the transformation of new scientific research achievements at Yuhua Street.
